Module key stale

HTTP status409 Conflict

What it means

POST /orgs/{org}/dependency-proxy/module-key creates or rotates the organisation’s Terraform and OpenTofu module cache key only when expect names the key that is current: its prefix, or "" when there is none. Another key is current, so nothing was created or rotated.

Example detail messages returned with this error:

  • Another key is current: “expect” does not name it. Read the status again and retry.

What to do

Read GET /orgs/{org}/dependency-proxy/module-key, check that the current key is not one someone else just issued, and send its prefix as expect.
